Ravens’ CB Samari Rolle “I ain’t your BOY!”

After the Ravens handed the game to the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football, Baltimore cornerback Samari Rolle stated in an interview that the head linesman Phil McKinnelly called him “boy” after one of the questionable calls made on the field in the fourth quarter.  It seems that Rolle went over to the ref and politely requested an explanation of the linesman’s call.  Is it just me or is everyone getting to damn sensitive and prissy?  Is Rolle upset because the word “boy” was used in racially derogatory manner?  Well since both parties involved are black so that can’t be it.  Is Rollesamari rolle upset because he has worked hard all his life and has a wife and 3 kids and deserves to be called Mr. or Man?  Let’s be real, NO.  I think Rolle is upset because they lost.  He’s making a stink about the comment when in reality, a lot worse is said to the refs/umps/players and most other partakers in the athletic and sporting industry.  I’m not saying it’s OK, but let’s not cry about it and file a complaint.  The Ravens lost, they should’ve won and frankly, it’s their own fault.  File a complaint against the coaching staff for calling a timeout right before they stuffed Brady on 4th and inches.  File a complaint against Ed Reed for intercepting the ball and fumbling it right back to the Patriots.  File a complaint against the defense for letting Tom Brady march down the field.  File a complaint against Bart Scott for the two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties which yielded 30 on the final kickoff by the Pats. Don’t blame the Refs for name calling. File a complaint against yourself for not acting like a man.

I Won’t Choke Like the Buffalo Bills

thurman thomas onthebuzzer.comice cube onthebuzzer.comIce Cube said it right in “Wicked.” Except he was referring to their 0-4 superbowl appearances.  Monday night’s game might have been worse. For the Bills on MNF, it was anything but. Up 24-16 in the 4th quarter, the Bills gave up a touchdown to the Cowboys with 24 seconds left, stopped them on the two-point conversion then allowed Dallas to recover an onside kick and score a game winning field goal with time running out. And you ask yourself why they have only 1 win? All this on the day when former RB Thurman Thomas was honored at half time. Show some team pride, win a game. Players in the league are supposed to be PROS. I know they have injuries, but that’s part of the game. They have top rookie in Lynch, a pretty decent receiving corp with Lee Evans and Roscoe Parrish. Buffalo fans, look at it this way, at least they are in second place in their division, ahead of the NY Jets and the Miami Dolphins who have a combined 1 win. Looks like the Pats can clinch a playoff birth by this Sunday, “Cause they’re the ones with the fat mad skills.”

Cowboys Stay Undefeated

cowboys.jpgDespite 5 interceptions and one fumble, Tony Romo finds a way to rally his team from behind and beat the Bills on Monday Night. The Cowboys scored nine points in the final 20 seconds, including a 53-yard field goal by Nick Folk as time expired, giving Dallas an improbable 25-24 victory. This very well may be the year of the Cowboys. How can you commit 6 turnovers, two of which were returned for TDs, and have a kickoff returned for a TD and still win the game? That’s what good teams do. Dallas now 5-0, while the Bills are left scratching their heads, no doubt thinking they let this one get away…

Palmer: Don’t Forget About Me!!!

On Monday Night, Carson Palmer reminded the rest of the league why he is considered one of the top quarterbacks in the league. A weekend after Peyton Manning and Tom Brady were heralded as the creme’ de la creme’ of quarterbacks, Carson Palmer might have had the best performance of all, considering he played against one of the top Ds in the league, the Baltimore Ravens. Palmer threw for 2 tds and 194 yds and no picks. While not a spectacular performance, he did show the league that the Bengals are for real and playoff contenders, barring any unforeseen injuries or arrests.
