Christmas came a day late for me this year. The Charger’s loss to the Bengals coupled with the Chiefs win against the Titans gave teh Chiefs the AFC West title and the Chargers, a one-way ticket to the no-man’s land. There’s nothing more that I love to see than the Charger’s demise. For the past 2 weeks, every NFL analyst has picked the Chargers to make their typical late season push into the playoffs eventhough they were in 2nd place in the division. Well suck it! The only reason the Chargers beat the Chiefs (and when I say beat, I mean BEAT) was because the Chiefs didn’t have their quarterback Matt Cassell. Now he’s back and hasn’t missed a beat. Dwayne Bowe is playing like the stud he is and Jamaal Charles is shining. Can someone start the Matt Cassell for MVP chant? As for the Chargers, looks like another clutch interception by Philip Rivers. How you lose to the Bengals without T.O. is a shock to me. Carson Palmer played like his senior year at USC again. I’m guessing that Norv Turner won’t be there when next season starts. If he is, you can expect another disappointing season in 2011. Kudos to head coach Todd Haley, coach of the year for turning this 5 win team around. How about Charlie Weiss? After getting kicked out of Notre Dame, he’s re-establishing himself as an NFL genius. As for this Chiefs’ fan, it’s off to the post-season, and man does Matt Cassell beat Elvis Grbac and/or Steve Bono.
How do you blow a 21 point lead in the 4th quarter, with 11 minutes left to play? Well, ask the NY Giants. Michael Vick and his band of merry men walked all over the G-Men in the 4th today. Winning on a reeedonkulous Desean Jackson punt return as time expired. It’s been a bad week for New Yorkers. First, Cliff Lee spurns them to sign with the Phillies, for less money. Then this! Whoever would’ve thought that the Knicks would be the hottest team in the city. I gotta give credit to Mike Vick. I hated on this guy for the immoral things he did off the field. But he’s come a long way and will probably get the comeback player of the year award. He should also be in consideration for MVP. Vick led the way with 3 passing TDs and 1 rushing. With two home games left against the lowly Vikings and the Cowboys, looks like the Eagles are headed to the playoffs. Don’t be surprised if these guys represent teh NFC in the playoffs. By the way, I hate Desean Jackson.
Clearly sarcastic on my behalf. Jets strengthening coach SAL ALOSI stuck out his knee during a punt return, causing Miami Dolphins’ gunner Nolan Carroll to fall down. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The story of the game should have been how the Jets choked away an easy win and how they’re not as good as everyone thinks they are. Instead, you got one of Rex Ryan’s cronies executing the biggest bushleague move I have EVER seen in football. It’s unprecedented. The funny part is that I’m not surprised by this move coming from Jets’ personnel. I actually liked this team. They have some real players. But for some reason, after going on HBO’s “Hard Knocks” this past offseason, they’ve turned Hollywood. Sure they made it to the AFC Championship game last year…kudos. But this year, they’ve beaten 1 quality team, and have many last second victories. Commissioner Roger Goodell better come down hard on the Jets and this Alosi guy. We want a suspension and a HUGE fine. What an idiot! And how do you lose to the Dolphins? That’s 2 losses in a row. At Pittsburgh and at Chicago over the next two weeks. Can someone say, 4-game losing streak!!!
Week 14 in the NFL is already underway with the Colts beating the Titans Thursday night and keeping their playoff hopes alive. I never thought I would say “Colts” and “playoff hopes” in the same line. This might be the first time in years where you don’t have a clear-cut favorite to win the Superbowl. Heck, you don’t even have any divisions clinched yet. But let’s not get carried away here. With the 2010/2011 NFL schedule winding down, the Super Bowl Spreads have some familiar teams near the top. With the Patriots, Steelers and Bears all having solid season’s up to this point, it’s no surprise that Vegas have them near the top to win Super Bowl XLV going down February 6th, 2011 from Dallas, Texas. The only way to get one of those teams at a good Super Bowl Spread is to bet early, so pony up and make a play! If you want my opinion, something tells me those pesky Patriots are gonna find themselves playing in Big D come February. Mark my words, don’t say I didn’t tell you so!!!
Ok folks, I’m officially concerned. Peyton Manning threw 4 picks yesterday in huge loss to the Dallas Cowboys, at HOME! Peyton look nervous during the game and did have that “air” of confidence. I have a bad feeling that they’re not going to make the playoffs which would be a shame. Who wants to see the Jaguars win the conference (outside of Jacksonville-ians)? I think I know what’s wrong with Manning. First, they have no running game. Their lead rusher is a guy named Javarris James with a whopping 6 carries for 18 yards. Donald Brown and Mike Hart and assy. Defenses are not respecting the play-action pass and we all know how easy it is to defend a one-dimensional team. The second problem are their receivers. Peyton’s favorite target Dallas Clark is out for the season. HUGE! I know he’s just a tight end but most TE’s are a quarterback’s safety blanket. Manning and his receivers don’t look like they’re on the same page. Outside of Reggie Wayne, they have no receivers that can kill anyone. And I don’t wanna hear about Pierre Carcon and Blair White. My last point I wanna make is 34. Maybe Peyton’s getting old? Maybe his passes are 1 second too late? I don’t wanna jump the gun here but if they don’t make the playoffs, do you draft a quarterback in the first round to prep him in 3-4 years? Forget it, let’s not even talk about it. The Colts face the Titans 2x, the Jaguars at home, and the Raiders. If they run the table, they sneak into the playoffs. Don’t count out Manning yet.
Lebron James is bringing his Miami Heat to Cleveland to put one on the Cavs today. The game will go as follows: the Cavs will come out pumped; Mo Williams will hit a couple of threes, Anderson Varejao will dive for a ball and take a charge on bron bron and the Cavs will go up by a dozen in the first quarter. The Heat will then come back in the 2nd quarter and the game will stay close until the fourth when the Wade (not Lebron) will take over and bury the Cavs.
Now, back to the plot, Clevelanders have to stop pouting. The city sucks, the team sucked, do you blame the King for going to Miami to play with his boys? Do you know how much tang he’s gotten and going to get in Miami? If owner Dan Gilbert was hurt so much, he shouldn’t have done a sign and trade. I hope Lebron drops 40 on his old team. I hope all those morons (fans) that appeared on ESPN and said we hate Lebron don’t have a hard time prying their feet out of their mouths. The NBA IS A BUSINESS. THE PLAYERS ARE BUSINESSMEN. MONEY FIRST, CHAMPIONSHIPS SECOND. Don’t ever forget that. Don’t take it personally. Lebron doesn’t give 2 shits about you so GET OVER IT!!! Remember, he is the CHOSEN 1.
