The TRUTH about Sports

Green Eggs and Ham

The Miami Dolphins placed quarterback Trent Green on the injured reserve list, ending his season…again. I don’t want to seem insensitive towards Green, whom I’m sure is going through a difficult time, but it seems like every season this guy is going through a difficult time. Before he was traded to the Dolphins, Jason Taylor said that one more concussion for this guy and his brain is scramble eggs. Well he got one more  concusion, a grade 3 to be exact, and now Green will be watching from the sidelines. By all accounts, Trent Green is one of the more intelligent football players, highly articulate and likable. The t.v. booth would be perfect for him. Alas, it’s a case of another player hanging on too long and jeopardizing his health. To me Green seems like he’s been injured every year since Kurt Warner took over for him on the St. Louis Rams, and led them to the Super Bowl. Since then, Green has been that quarterback bounced from team to team, thinking that this will be the year where he stays healthy and leads his team to the promised land. It just wasn’t meant to be, and Green should retire while he can still put a coherent sentence together. Nobody wants to live a lifetime full of headaches, memory loss, and light sensitivity. Take time off and spend it with your family, we’ll see you in the booth next year.
