The TRUTH about Sports

Going, Going, Gagne

onthebuzzer.com fausto carmonaEnter the the 11th inning, tied at 6 a piece. The Indians just retired the 3 headed monster in Ramirez, Ortiz and Lowell. Indians up to bat and pitching for the Sox…back from a steroid cleanse, Eric “game over” Gagne. Terry Francona used up all his good pitchers; Schilling, Okajima, Timlin and of course Pap (2 innings btw). Did the Sox really think that inserting Gagne was the answer. Francona has been making all the right calls until this one. Gagne got the 1st out, then walked and gave up a single. 2/3 of an inning later, Sox are down 7 and the Indians are headed home, mission accomplished. Now you can start worrying Boston fans, because up next is Dice-K vs. Jake Westbrook. Dice has been anything but consistent lately, he can make up for it with a stellar start. All Boston has to do is win one of three in Cleveland and reclaim home field. Chances are they will, but then again weirder things have happened.

Introducing: PRONK

donkey onthebuzzer.comtravis hafner pronk onthebuzzer.comLet me introduce to you, form Jamestown, North Dakota, TRAVIS LEE HAFNER, “project donkey” or PRONK (I like Pronkey more) as people who know him call him. The nickname was given to him by former teammate Bill Selby when people used to refer to him as “project” and “donkey” for the way he would round the bases. This guy is the reason, along with Victor Martinez as to why the Cleveland Indians made the playoffs this year. He is a professional hitter. Batted over .300, over 100 rbis and 30 rbis in the last 3 of 4 years. His #s did dip a little this year, but he is still one of the most dangerous hitters in the game and should give the Sox a run for their money. Can’t you see the resemblance? YOU ROCK PRONK!!!

Cleveland Indians Swat Yankees in 11

Posada Disinfects RiveraAfter 11 grueling, gnat infested innings, the Cleveland Indians have protected their homefield advantage and now head to New York up 2-0. Both pitchers Fausto Carmona and Andy Pettite showed up big, with 1 earned run in 15 1/2 total innings between the 2 of them. But at the end, Travis PRONKEY Hafner proved to be too much for them.  The professional hitter deluxe came up to bat with the bases loaded and 2 outs in the bottom of the 11 and…base hit single over the 2nd baseman’s head.  Thanks for coming bombers, enjoy the flight home.

By the way, I’m officially starting the Kenny Lofton for ALDS MVP campaign.
