NFL LOCK OF THE WEEK
It’s the final week of the NFL regular season. There’s a bunch of teams playing for something, another a bunch more playing for nothing. If you’re betting on the games this weekend, I’d stay away from team in the cellars of their respective divisions. I’d also stray from those who have clinched spots and are gonna bench there starters or play them for only a few series. Without further ado, here’s my lock of the week: Atlanta Falcons -14.5 at home against the Carolina Panthers. Folks, there’s a reason why the Panthers have only won 2 games this season. It’s because they suck. The Falcons missed on a key opportunity last week when they lost at home against the Saints. Now they’re still in the hunt for the #1 seed and while they need some help, they still need to win this game for home-field throughout playoffs. Trust me on this one, go with the birds. Vegas has them at 14.5 right now. I know it seems high, but these are the same Panthers that got blasted by 24 points last week. They have nothing to play for. Their coach John Fox is playing his last game. And Jimmy Clausen, is already dreading the Panthers drafting Stanford’s Andrew Luck next year.
