SAN ANTONIO SPURS: WAKING GIANT

It’s time… playoff time.  Probably the hottest team in the league, the San Antonio Spurs are gelling and peaking at the perfect time. They beat the Lakers in LA a few days ago.  Tonight, they pounded the Timberwolves.  Now I know the ‘wolves suck but for the Spurs to have everyone on the active roster to score at least 4 points and 8 guys in double digits (excluding Manu and George Hill), that’s sick. Tony Parker is coming back from the DL and this is probably one team that you don’t wanna face en route to the playoffs. I did say the Richard Jefferson pickup was probably the “impactiest” move in the offseason but it took a while for this guy to mesh with the team and figure out his role playing alongside Manu.  But after following this team over the past month or so, the team that I once thought was old and over the hill is probably looking like one of the freshest teams out there. Winning the Championship has a lot to do with momentum and the Spurs have plenty of it.  Only concern of this team is their bench.  Not as bad as the Lakers’ but still a concern… The West is definitely up for grabs…
