Pistons: Wait, We Don’t Suck

tayshaun prince onthebuzzer.comGuess what? Right after I rip Billups and the Pistons apart for not showing up against the Mavericks last night, they do something stupid and beat the Spurs in San Antonio. Inconsistency, the mark of a championship team? I don’t think so.  Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good thing that they won.  They beat the Champion Spurs.  But they’re not dominating.  You need to win night in and night out to prove to me that you’re worth something in the NBA. Don’t show up when you want to. Maybe I’m being super-hard on these guys but I guess I expect more from them.  Heck, I picked them as the top team in the East.

Editor’s Picks: NFL Divisional Playoffs

OK guys, I went 4 for 4 last week. That’s right, I don’t wanna gloat but I do step up in the crunch. It’s gonna be tough for me to match last week’s performance but I’ll try my best, so here goes nothing:

Saturday’s Matchups:

Seattle Seahawks @ Green Bay Packers -8:  I know one thing for sure, the Pack will win.  They will also win by 8 because (1) Favre is destined to go to the Superbowl this year, (2) Ryan Grant has brought the running game back to Green Bay, (3) Green Bay’s defense is gonna be all over Hassleback.  Take the Pack and the points.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ New England Patriots -13:  This one’s tough.  The weather will play a huge role, but I don’t think the Jags have enough experience to hang in this one.  Everyone has forgotten how good New England really is, throw in home field and a little bit of undefeated mystique, and you have a good ol’ fashion whoopin. Take the home team and the points.

Sunday’s Matchups:

San Diego Chargers @ Indianapolis Colts -9: Let me start off by saying I want the Chargers to lose.  With that said, they didn’t look too spectacular at home against the Titans.  The Colts on the other hand have Bob Sander (defensive player of the year) plus they’re well rested, they’re the reigning champs, and oh yeah, that Marvin guy is coming back.  Colts and the points please.

NY Giants @ Dallas Cowboys -7.5: Take the Giants and the points. They’re a great away team. Eli’s been playing like Peyton and Archie the past few weeks.  The D-line is getting better by the minute and who knows which Romo’s gonna show up.  As for T.O.’s busted ankle…  G-men please.

Mavericks Send the Pistons Packing

dirk nowtizki onthebuzzer.comThis ain’t the Eastern Conference fellas. That’s what the Dallas Mavericks told the Pistons on Wednesday night, as they spanked Detroit 102-86. Does that prove anything??? I don’t know, but I do know that the Eastern conference just lost a hell of a lot of street cred on the same night that the Boston Celtics were upset at the Garden by the Charlotte Bobcats. The same Pistons who I had high on my list of powerhouses in the league. I mean, I can understand losing to the Mavs in Dallas, but a whoopin? After losing to the Celts, Chauncy Billups himself stated that Boston played that game like it was the Superbowl. Well Mr. “Big Shot” Billups, maybe you should take notes and start playing like a championship caliber team, because your 3 assists and 16 points aint cutting it.

Hell Has Frozen Over…Under Boston At Least

jason richardson onthebuzzer.comHow the heck do the Celtics lose to the Charlotte Bobcats, in Boston??? I know, all you Celtics’ sympathizers are gonna cite the absence of Ray Allen and “Big Baby” Glenn Davis. Let me get this straight, what you’re saying is that Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett by themselves are not good enough to go heads up against Jason Richardson and Gerald Wallace. This only a week after the Celts went into Detroit and took the Eastern Conference belt from them, this is the performance we get for an encore???? I guess in the NBA, on ANY given day, anyone can win… Look what the Lakers are doing.
