Just 3 days after leading his team to an improbable victory over the number 1 team in the nation, Arkansas Razorbacks coach Houston Nutt resigns. Nutt, 50, said he was hopeful his departure would unify the state. What? According to him, the state had been torn with turmoil surrounding the football program and his resignation was to help them overcome this problem. This all started during the winter after the loss of key recruits and a very popular assistant coach. More trouble mounted for the coach as the Razorbacks lost their first three Southeastern Conference games. Couple that with a turmoil-filled off-season, and low and behold, the State of Arkansas was in shambles! I am all for college football and dedication, but if the State is in crisis because the football program is having a couple of down years……… Well, I guess if I lived in Arkansas, I wouldn’t have much more important things to worry about either. Defensive coordinator Reggie Herring will coach the team in its bowl game.
