WORLD CUP 2010: DO YOU HAVE THE FEVER?
I know I do! (Ok, that was weak) but I do have to admit that I’m pumped about the upcoming South Africa World Cup. I know that US is not a favorite but the best of the best playing each other for possibly the greatest Title in all of sports. Not only the Cup, but you also get bragging rights for 4 years. Soccer hooligans, loud simultaneous crowd chants, riots, tt all goes down on June 11, 2010. The World Cup Schedule is already out and let me tell you something, it’s only running for 1 month. So whether your from the US, England, South Africa or almost any other nation in the World, you gotta have some emotional tie to one of the teams. And if you don’t, check out the World Cup Odds. That’s the greatest thing about sports, if you don’t enjoy it, bet on it. I guarantee you that it makes it more fun. Check out World Cup Picks, the odds are out at Doc’s Sports. I like England to take it all, my boy Wayne Rooney’s about to be a household name, if he isn’t already.
LOS ANGELES LAKERS: 1 DOWN, 3 TO GO
What a game! Kobe Bryant and his fellow Lakers did what they needed to in Game 1 of the NBA Finals: not just win, but send a message. Sure, there may have been a couple of bad calls but they went both ways. Kobe leading the way with 30 and my dog RON ARTEST bringin’ the noise. This guy brought intensity from the first minute, setting the tone physically with a double tech with Paul Pierce. Shooting 3-5 from behind the arc didn’t hurt either. Celtics looked a little discombobulated. KG played like he was 34, Ray Allen was plagued with foul trouble; Rajon Rondo looked average (even though he filled the box scores); and the old psycho Rasheed Wallace was back at his old tricks. He played a decent game on paper but mentally, this guy just took his whole team out of the game. Back to the series, Lakers MUST win game 2. Not celebrating yet, but frankly, I think the Lakers could play a lot better, which is something Boston should be very scared of. I’d like to see Pau Gasolget going a little bit more offensively early on and Lamar Odom, well, I’d like to see 19 and 19. Next game Sunday. Beat BOS-TON, beat BOS-TON, beat BOS-TON!!!
