My Apologies to Raiders Running Back Justin Fargas

onthebuzzer.com justin fargasI doubted him, I hated on him, “he’s too small,” and then on October 29, I picked him up on my fantasy league.  The results: 384 rushing yds, 2 tds, 67 receiving yards in 4 games.  Not bad for a guy whose started off the season behind Lamont Jordan and in front of overrated Dominic Rhodes. Oakland Raider running back Justin Fargas isn’t a premier back in the league, but he is definitely getting the job. For a Raider team that hasn’t had much to celebrate in say 20 years or so, Fargas has given them something to look forward to. The Raiders went into Arrowhead on Sunday and beat the Chiefs 20-17, with the go ahead score coming on Fargas’ 14 yd touchdown run.  It’s no surprise to many that this guy is a former USC Trojan.  That’s probably where he’s learned the Xs and Os of the game.  Fight on Fargas, Fight on!!!

  2. There is no need to ever apologise to the Raiders. They should be to us for another crap season. You have one of the hottest quarterbacks Jamarcus Russell.org sitting on the bench when your 4/10 and you dont do anything about it. Come on. They have a “commitment to losing another season”. They should send each one of us in the Raidernation a letter and one dollar bill :)

  3. Raiders draft pick is Darren Mcfadden

“McFadden is a rare talent who has incredible potential as a pro. The Raiders ended up with a 1,000 yard runner in Justin Fargas (4.5 yards per carry) in 2007, but the addition of McFadden would be a huge upgrade for the Oakland offense”

Mcfadden and Russell would be an amazing combination.

  5. The Falcons need a major upgrade at the signal-caller position and a true leader in the locker room. Given the way Matt Ryan commanded his squad over Virginia Tech and Clemson in the clutch, Atlanta may decide to make him the franchise’s future at quarterback. I would say that Brian Brohm is also an option, but I seriously doubt Arthur Blank trusts anyone from the University of Louisville right now.

The need for a franchise signal caller is too paramount for it not to be addressed, even if it means eschewing superior prospects. Matt McGuire brought up a great point that the Browns passed on Brady Quinn in favor of Joe Thomas in 2007. The difference here is that unlike last year, there are no second-tier quarterbacks. In 2007, Kevin Kolb, Drew Stanton, Trent Edwards and John Beck were all second-round prospects. There aren’t any signal callers in this draft like that; at least not yet. If the Falcons don’t take Ryan here, they’ll be left with no one. This could change if either Chad Henne or John David Booty manages to distinguish himself in the coming months, however.

  6. Oakland has a pretty intruiging defense which could be pretty good this year. thier offence is still a mess though so don’t expect them to win much this year.
