USC Basketball: Too Much Mayo

onthebuzzer.com mayoI said waaayyyyy before the season started, freshman phenom O.J. Mayo was going to hurt this program more than he helps it.  USC took it’s first step in the wrong direction on Saturday night when it lost to Mercer 96-81.  It’s true Mayo had 36 points.  But what most don’t realize is that he needed 27 shots to achieve that, 2 less shots than the remaining 4 starters.  Oh yeah, did I mention his 8 turnovers? Most importantly, the Trojans got the loss which bounced them right out of the top 25 in the country. This kid is going to be under tremendous scrutiny this year by everyone (including myself), as he “showcases” his talent for the NBA.  He’s also going to be compared to that Love kid across town, the same kid who’s the posterchild for team play and selflessness. Until then, I think I’m going on a diet, no more mayo in my sandwiches.

  1. I don’t agree at all
Firstable it’s 32 points and not 36,and why all this shot?Because Mercer had to much points and was to far and all the team mates gave ball to OJ because he’s the only one who can take the responsability to shot to help the team, did you watch the game?don’t call him a Cancer because he’ll be a great player and you’ll just regret what you’re saying right now…
    You’re show’s good guys..bye
