Brazil To Host 2014 World Cup
We know they can play soccer, but can they host it? For the first time since 1950, Brazil has been chosen to host the 2014 World Cup. One of the favorites to win this event almost every time, Brazil was the only candidate (after Colombia dropped out in April) and won in a unanimous vote by the executive committee of the sport’s governing body. It had been told by FIFA however, it wasn’t guaranteed the tournament simply because it was the only candidate, saying it had to provide a solid bid package. Huh? So if they didn’t provide a solid bid package and there were no other candidates, where would they play? Leave it to soccer officials to say something stupid! Well, apparently Brazil’s ‘package’ was good enough and the rest is history. Sure to be favorites again, Brazil, with the likes of Ronaldhino and company, will try to add to their five World Cup victories. Can anyone here at onthebuzzer.com say road trip…?
