Not Worth a Penny
Can someone explain to me the rationale behind bringing Penny Hardaway back? The Miami Heat have decided to “sign” the 36 year old veteran. He hasn’t played a preseason game yet due to being sidelined by injuries. He’s a veteran that should have retired a few years ago after he lost a step, among other things. Penny, ala Robert Parrish, has stayed in the league well past his prime. The nonsense doesn’t stop there, the Heat went and signed Smush Parker to back up their point guard Jason Williams. I have nothing against Smushy, other than he plays no defense, is a head case, and gives up more point then he scores. With that said, I think the Miami Heat are doing an injustice to their team and their fans. The Shaq window is closing quick, and rather than making a smart move (like say re-sign Jason Kapono) the Heat management has filled the team with garbage like Antoine Walker, Penny, and Parker. Udonis is solid, as is Simien. But they’re still missing that special somebody. Hey, I heard Kobe’s looking for a new home…yeah right, what are the chances the Lakers will F@#$ things up twice. Don’t answer that.
It is not a guarenteed contract. Sorry I spelled guarenteed wrong but I am too mentally spent to check the spelling.
Why not bring him back. If he stays he is making next to nothing and their owner refuses to pay a luxary tax.
Antoine Walker is not garbage. He is in a situation where he is set up to lose.
NO ONE gives more of an effort then Walker and this whole body fat issue is Pat Riley being Hitler and picking favorites.
Do you know during the actual press conference about body fat that Riley mentioned others besides Walker but the Miami media NEVER printed it. When Riley talked about how he was mis-quoted it never made it in the paper either.
Sorry but Walker is the scape goat by the “fans” that didn’t even know who the Heat were until the day Shaq signed.
